Each Christmas, Alice conjures up a new collection of hand-painted Tree Dancers.
This year's cast includes a Merman, a Sailor Girl, a Mouse King and a Christmas Princess, among many others…whimsical figments of half-remembered dreams, each with its own character and story.
Lovingly painted by hand in Alice's Somerset studio, using Edward Bulmer Natural Paints, every Tree Dancer really is a labour of love, bringing moments of tenderness into the sea of chaos that everyday life can sometimes be.
Created not just for Christmas, but as heirloom keepsakes to be brought out year after year (or cherished all year round), they are little works of art, made to become part of family traditions, treasured and passed from one generation to the next. Over the years, Alice’s Tree Dancers have become cherished collector’s pieces, with many returning each Christmas to add more magical companions to their growing troupe.
